Had West Elk Precision build a 300 NMI for this years elk hunt. Borden action with 30
MOA pic rail, Manners EH1 stock, Krieger 30" heavy varmint 9 twist barrel, TT Diamond trigger, Ken Farrell rings, NF 5-25 ATACR. 245 grain Berger's at 3015 FPS with 88 grains VV N570. Gun is pretty consistently shooting half MOA at 1320 yards in calm conditions. Got this bull today at an even 800 yards.

Just for curiosity what does your 300NMI weigh and what shoulder angle did you use? I am considering.

Gun weighs about 16.5 pounds, 40 degree shoulder. These heavy Krieger barrels have been really accurate for me. This rifle is intended for long range elk across a canyon I hunt, and trying for a marmot at a mile.

I'm currently waiting on a 40 degree 300 NMI reamer from Dave Manson.
My build will be quite different coming in around 7.5 lbs naked, with a 20" barrel for my Nomad LT suppressor.
I'm throating it for 225 eldms which is actually perfect for the 245 as well, I have 2 boxes so will definitely play with them too.

What do you anticipate your velocity would be?

I got dies from Whidden, very happy with them. I was hoping to see 3K fps with this long barrel and ended up at 3015 with 88 grains of N570. Seeing groups in the .3's at 200 yards.

Should be around 2850 easily with 225 eldms and H1000, I know another guy on here is getting the same velocity with the standard version from an 18" barrel using N570.
