Mass Shootings - Why?

I'm regards to the Texas shooting, nobody is asking one big question. Where the hell did the shooter find a place that actually had 2 AR's and plenty of ammo in stock?? How did he purchase 350 rounds of ammo, when you're usually restricted to a couple of boxes of ammo (if it's in stock). And, he had to drop at least $2-3K on all of it. Where did an 18 year old kid get the cash??
Now they reported ~1600 rounds? 60 mags? I don't know what is true...

Bob, have you ever tried to pick up 1600 rounds of 5.56 and a rifle. Or were they saying that he had that much in a vehicle?
He had that in various places at home, vehicle and school. It was reported this morning by the Texas DPS chief and aired on the news. I couldn't believe what I heard. I'm curious if anyone else heard the same.
I'm beginning to think he saved some of the money and stole the rest from his grandmother. I believe she tried to stop him and took the bullet as a result.

Regular patrol police officers have no training or equipment to storm an active shooter where the shooter is heavily armed. The protocol is for the police to secure the perimeter, and wait till SWAT arrives. Without knowing how many active shooters are involved, the police could be walking into a trap. Those police officers have the right to go home to their children and wives.
Maybe that's their policy in Texas, but not here in Idaho. I'm a FF/Medic and we drill with LE on active shooter drills. The policy here is that LE is going in to neutralize the threat as soon as they get on scene. And they will keep going in and going in until it is neutralized. If you're a cop and feel like you want to wait for a SWAT team to engage a shooter, I'd say you're in the wrong profession.
Security guards and Deputy Sherriffs working in school systems have one heck of a job since Black Lives Matter created the Defund the Police movement, hate America, and hate the cops. Now, police have their budgets slashed, thus less training and longer response time for situations like this horrible school shooting.

Red Flag laws will have open access to your medical records. If your spouse dies, and you have one single prescription for Zanex, you could have your guns taken away 5 years later due to a diagnosis of depression.

The question that I have is that if a couple of the local police charged in to rescue the kids, and shoot the bad guy, would they have been in trouble for breaking procedure?

People talk about school security, I say that every patrol car should have a shotgun, and an AR with 200 rounds of ammo, body armor for the patrolman. These guys have the Heart of a Lion, but they need the tools to do this impossible job.
Totally agree with you there. Give them everything they need, including more personnel.
Better watch those knee-jerk reactions. Support your local police, and get involved with the local School Board. Ex-military and retired police could volunteer as security at local schools, where politically correct. Heckling of Security in High Schools here in my area is just beyond belief!
Recruiting ex-military and retired LE for school security enhancements seems like a good solution to me. I would want them to pass background checks and go through some sort of vetting, but absolutely a great resource many of whom are parents and would probably volunteer for it. As for the heckling from the kids, that's where the parenting (or lack of) comes in. And maybe you remind them that you're the only thing standing between them and a shooter.....

Daniel Defense at that. How did he afford them? 5.56 ammo is no issue, can find them.

My wife has a far fetched conspiracy theory.

The kid had a troubled past, bullied, not socially active, kind of a loner in some ways. Vulnerable kid, easily manipulated. Uvalde has CBP station in the city. Most of their kids go to that school.

Her conspiracy theory, it was a hit on the Border Patrol kids by the guys on the other side of the border.

Please, PLEASE, don't call these, crazy FK's,.. "Shooters or, Gunmen" anymore as, THEY ARE,.. just,.. Murderer's !!!

Pardon my spelling folks…. Satan
I knew what you meant , there's nothing too joke about here. No offense intended . I dang near had a wreck today thinking about why today , run a red light nearly creamed a sports car in my tundra with a cattle guard grille , never even come close too a mistake like that before . Maybe we all need too take a deep breath.

When we return to parental authority over their kids schools it will get better. Alas those getting involved are now considered domestic terrorist.

The Department Of Education got on steroids under the Carter Administration. It's now almost a $70 billion a year entity. Focused on who uses which bathroom, and which pronouns the kids use.

If someone trips a potential high risk shooter red flag, how the hell are they being turned loose?

We need answers on this egregious system failure before anything else can be considered IMO. We need to push our representatives to get answers. What corrective preventive actions MUST be taken by those Agencies and Education to stop a potential shooter?
To me your answer is found in one word LAWYERS. Today LAWYERS make our laws/rules. Judges who must be LAWYERS by law entrench the laws. LAWYERS talk with other LAWYERS to pervert and make large sums of money from the laws/rules made by LAWYERS.

Just my perception and opinion.

Then there's this...

Uvalde Police conducted active shooter training. This link describes their exact training procedure. Apparently, the training didn't take...

The training didn't take in those in a appointed or elected leadership role. Had any officers done one thing against orders even if it saved lives they would have been hung by their leaders to have their entire life and family's live devoured by.....see above.

Ok ok ok....I posted my thoughts....done.
