28 nosler wringing out

Those velocities seem really low for a 160. Most guys are getting better than that with 180's, and some with 195's. You're over 200 fps slower than the Nosler published data. What is your COAL? Could be you're loading long and getting low pressures.
Shooting a 20" barrel I'm pretty happy with my velocities

Yes I am loading them long I'll check my coal

yes that's really good for a 20" running a can i presume!!?? don't worry about sammi length that's for factory ammo specs, load em long and keep going up till you see your usual pressure signs and then back off like usual.. i always do load work with twice fired brass that way they are maxed for growth and signs are easier to read and find..
a lot of guys run loads hard with new brass only to find out that after second firing they're way over pressure. from what I've seen with accubonds they like to be pushed hard and the faster they go the more accurate they are!!

I'm jumping them about .020 should I go up in powder or keep lengthening them? Yes I am working with 2x fired brass.

personally i would keep them right where they are for length until max is found, then if the groups are not what you would like take your length and move further away from lands most of my accubond loads come right in at .050" off.. if you can shoot these at your max distance allowed like 500 yards, also don't do this with mangetto speed on barrel if that's what your using

also shoot 3 shot groups in succession at a reasonable speed that you feel most accurate, don't wait for barrel cool between each individual rounds. In between each 3 shot string let barrel cool completely back to ambient. Not doing this is folly and i see guys all time do this and get great accuracy, then shoot a group of 3 or more in succession and it falls apart, when in the field have you ever had the chance to wait for 10 min for another shot!! I want my rifle to shoot great from first round to 10th round no matter what

Made it back to the range I'll post the results in a bit

I shot the same type of target then overlayed and imposed the next 3 loads over initial target. Stiff bolt no doubt at 88 gr.

I think you should still shoot 85.7 and test it for velocity consistency. Then fine tune your seating depth.

I agree with you and that's what I'm going to do next I just wanted to run this out and really see what the limit is in MY rifle. Definitely found it.

Thanks

I do it differently. I shoot 3 shot groups and let cool to ambient. My thought is I shouldn't need more than 3 or something is really wrong. To each their own and do what you feel is best for you. The 28 heats up real quick, as you know ...

5 shots at 85.7 #4 may have been me but #1 speed has me scratchung my head

Not sure what I'm doing wrong

I'm not sure you are getting a consistent burn of the powder. I don't try to make a rifle like what I want anymore. I would switch to a diff powder or primer. I find that Retumbo some rifles love it and others not so much.
