I'd try h1000 first then r25 and h4831. N570 and magnum are slower than retumbo, so doubt they'll help. Again, this is all conjecture, but thats what I'd do.Probably a few others I'm missing I'd have to look. Definitely have h4831

seems like I'll have to drop down in bullet weight, 140, to get into the faster powdersI'd try h1000 first then r25 and h4831. N570 and magnum are slower than retumbo, so doubt they'll help. Again, this is all conjecture, but thats what I'd do.
Why not Berger?I barely have enough h1000 to load three rounds.
heres what I got enough of to do some testing
RL 19, 22, 25
h4831
h4831sc
imr7828
imr4895
cant really find any data for starting points except on Hodgdon website for the 140etip h4831 and 7828
i wonder what Gunwerks uses in their 180hybrid factory ammo because it shoots good in my gun....just prefer not to use berger or am I being stubborn? Ha
Not necessarily. That shorter barrel is making you a test pilotseems like I'll have to drop down in bullet weight, 140, to get into the faster powders
Im on the same boat!!! either i worded it wrong or you misread ,, i shoot 3 in succession let cool completely, repeat.I do it differently. I shoot 3 shot groups and let cool to ambient. My thought is I shouldn't need more than 3 or something is really wrong. To each their own and do what you feel is best for you. The 28 heats up real quick, as you know ...
Ha thanksNot necessarily. That shorter barrel is making you a test pilot
Not sure never tried them I guess. Uncharted territory for meWhy not Berger?
I'll test them I just don't know where to startNot necessarily. That shorter barrel is making you a test pilot
You original post mentioned not letting it cool to ambient between groups, so I was just saying I let it cool. Your edit makes it more clear for me. I probably misread.Im on the same boat!!! either i worded it wrong or you misread ,, i shoot 3 in succession let cool completely, repeat.
try the 150-160 range hammers with H1k .. the speed is there considering your shooting a 20" barrel! i have a ton of experience with the short barrel magnums and your gonna loose roughly 150-200fps going from a 26 to a 20"
my 20" 30 nosler shot the 180 swift and 215 berger both retumbo low ES
im sure it was me not writing out like i have it in my head ha ha .... no worries i edited itYou original post mentioned not letting it cool to ambient between groups, so I was just saying I let it cool. Your edit makes it more clear for me. I probably misread.
Look at Nosler and Hodgdon websites. You should be able to interpolate. If not I'll help when I get done shooting.I'll test them I just don't know where to start
Chances are very high that I misread thingsim sure it was me not writing out like i have it in my head ha ha .... no worries i edited it
