What rifles have fancy wood stocks?

YZ-80 is the Weatherby Varmintmaster chambered in 224 WM or 22-250? Now that is a work of art!

.22-250 (Japanese)
I agree my Browning falling block is the nicest wood I own and looks beautiful 😍
I've always wanted to own one of the older Browning safari rifles with the Sako actions. They were back in that '72-74' timeframe as well. Also would like a BAR grade IV from that time period too. Both in .243!

Do not know if Winchester has a custom shop any more. But they used to make some really nice rifles with beautiful wood. I think Remington still has one and they make some nice rifles. Cooper has really nice rifles and are very accurate. If you really want a knock it out of the park rifle go the custom route. Pick your action, choice of barrel, caliber, then shop the dealers of wood blanks. Take it to the custom builder of your choice and you will never be sorry. You will have a piece to pass on to your kids and grand kids.
Let cooper rifles build you one you will very happy looks and accurately

I'm looking for a rifle that has a fancy stock, new or old. Besides Weatherby's, does anyone else make anything like that?

Most rifle makers build a high end model that has high grade or presentation grade stocks if you look for the brand you prefer. Or you can re stock your favorite rifle with a custom stock of the finest wood available.

J E CUSTOM

Unless you go full custom, beauty is only skin deep. Don't know about others, but Cooper for sure and I believe Dakota both have accuracy guarantees. Shame to shell out big dollars and then have to fool around to make it shoot.

I've got a 19 yo Win M70 FW 300 wsm that has a really sweet piece of walnut that is better grain and color than most Browning Medallions I've seen and owned. New factory production; the Steyr CL and SM usually have eye catching walnut to compliment out of the box sub-moa accuracy.

Two rifles in timber stocks, the Sako Quad (upper rifle) about 7 years old and below a 40 year old full stock Varberger in 6.5x55.
The wood in both rifles is pleasant without being exceptional.
All the European manufacturers will offer rifles in every range of timber stock but if you want something special you have to look for walnut.
The Varberger is a high quality hand finished rifle. I still use it in woodland . The manufacturers were described as "a bunch of stone mad hunting enthusiasts". The rifle has top feed magazine with a solid stock .

Great thread! I've got plenty of synthetic stocked rifles, but would love to add a nice wood stocked rifle to the collection.

There's a name from the 60's.

Beautiful!
Ended up ordering a Vanguard Lazerguard. For the money I couldn't pass it up. ($900)
They are really nice! I also own a custom left handed 460 Weatherby....but our dumb *** government just banned it and 1500 other models of guns. Long Live America! I may have to emigrate!
