Guys would post this in the waterfowl forum but it's dead there.
Looking to start reloading for duck hunting

Any pet recipes for size 3 or 4 shot 3.5" 12 gauge

Are you reloading steel, hevi shot, ixi, tungsten ?? What velocity do you want to push your load?

TH will be a mainly steel shot.. 3.5"
Want to push the load as fast as I can and retain descent pattern. Majority of my commercial shells are 1500 fps... Ive shot some commercial at 1700!fps

So I'd say shoot for 1600

When we used to reload steel we would mix shot, 2's and 5's or B.B.'s and 3's and would get really nice shot patterns. The problem is trying to level off steel shot. Lead just shaves right off when it goes from the hopper to the measuring bushing to the shell. Steel does not and we stopped messing with it because it would seriously try our patience to put many together.
