Here is a picture of a .308" 180 Nosler E-Tip, .308" 230 A-Tip, and a .264" 153 A-Tip.
With the 230 seated in a .300 Win Mag case to where the beginning of the shank is even with the bottom of the neck, I got a coal of 3.83" (if I did my "Jethro syphering" correct). If seated to 3.34" COAL, you would have 1.045" of bullet, in the powder column.
Anyway, just wanted to share my boredom
