I know this is not a real popular rifle to work on ,but a good friend of mine has one , so can anyone tell me what after market stocks are available or which ones could be worked to fit...

Any long action Rem 700 stock will fit.

You might need to dremel a stock a bit at the safety. The 721 safety is a bit further out than the 700.

On the 700's Remington notched the rear tang to keep the safety in a little tighter.

You'll probably need to inlet the barrel channel for the rear sight "doughnut" also.

I have a carbon fiber clone that I make off the old M-40 Marine Corps Sniper Stock.

Light weight, very rigid, and ready to go. Custom inletted for any appropriate action.

Good advice above. I've done a couple 721's and used 700 stocks including those from H-S Precision. They worked out well with very little modification.....Rich
