Short 300 win mag problems

If the scope switch doesn't pan out, I'll have to find a better ear pro than the basic plugs I've used the last couple years.
Anyone have in ear options that they like?
I use the Sound Gear electronic ear plugs, the ones for construction not the $1K+ ones. I can hear well enough and they are effective when shooting

I'd be curious to know the velocity at 18". It should be close to a 24" .308 still should have accurate impacts depending on the bullet weight and barrel twist. Lots of info needed still

I would wager that an 18" 300WM shooting 180 grain bullets will still outperform the 308 in a 24" barrel by around 200 fps.

My 21" 300WM is pushing 180 grain SSTs at 2945fps. My 18" .308 is shooting 150 grain SSTs at 2635 fps.

Your not wrong but there are 7's that can do 180s at 3k that short

Short and suppressed is ergonomically great at certain yardage. I run 16" .308s in the woods myself

There is to much missing information to get a direction of issue(s) figured out for the op.

My favorite handload for 180 grain in the win mag 24 inch tube is just over 3200 fps putting it in Weatherby category. Same with the recoil. I have seriously thought about a brake.
