I found 2 Rem senderos in 7rm-.300wm at $1100 brand new on shelf no scope. Is this a good price or on the avg in ballpark? Can't find Rem long range rifles at the moment in North idaho found the senderos in Idaho falls. I have seen few in the for sale section with scopes and ready to go for close to this price. What you guys think to much or pretty close?

I'd say that's a great price on a brand new Sendero. I got my 7RM Sendero new for about $1150 online - I've seen ads for used senderos that aren't under $1200. They are excellent rifles. I've only changed out the trigger on mine and it shoots awesome.

I have a 7mm RUM and I also replaced the trigger. I paid significantly less, $600 for a like new rifle in the box. I used the extra money for a good scope. I believe that this rifle is heavy and is very much properly suited to the RUM's. My personal preference is for a lighter rifle in the less powerful calibers. All of that said, this is my preference for big game, Elk, at long distance.

In the current market it's probably a pretty reasonable price.

Take a look on GunBroker at similar rifles and what they are selling for, that's the fastest way to get a read on the market I know of.

Tell them you'll buy both for $2K, and then you'll have just made out like a bandit!

good price, especially since remington had a recall recently and some rifles can be very hard to find. as another poster said...sendero is a slightly heavier rifle which is great for recoil management on a 300win mag or 300RUM...may be a bit much for 7mm rem mag though. Personally id buy one :)

Sounds like you did real well.

Look at that muzzle brake from North West precision for the light rig and you'll be tickled pink.

Have a competent gunsmith look at both of them to make sure the floating and bedding are correct on them before you start shooting and it'll likely save you considerable time, money, and aggravation.

Mudrunner- wish I could get both if them senderos. After seeingbthat rem 5r tactical package now second guessing things  according to the Gun shop in Idaho falls there is only $150 difference in price if you set up sendero with same accessories.
Wildrose even with a good brake that light weight Rem long range be a hand full. I am sure one could add heavier stock etc.. I think Broz is correct barrel contour is pretty much a sendero. Very nice rifles. Gonna have to do some serious thinking decisions decisions.

It's a toss-up as far as accuracy and quality. They will both be tack-drivers. I currently have 4 Senderos and 1 5R Milspec...So I can assure you whichever oft those 2 directions you go, you'll be fine.

Trust me, I have the same brake on a light weight factory Mod 70 300 Rum and it made it a a pure pleasure to shoot. I bought it to build a 26 Nosler on the action but liked the way it handled and shot so I put one of the North West Precision brakes on it and I'm afraid I'm just going to keep it as is and buy something else to build the 26 on.

Wild rose,
Can you post a link that muzzle brake company?

Op: that seems like a good price on a new Sendero, I will have one soon.

Curious to find out what local sporting good stores in my area have on prices. Last time I checked they didn't even have them on shelf, wonder how much extra they would charge to order one. I'll find out next week.

So which gun store in IF are you working with? The prices seem VERY sharp. Cabelas has been $699 on the 700 long range. I've seen a lot of used Sendero's sell for the new prices they have. Thanks. Bruce
