My father has a Remington 700 Sendero SF 300 RUM he purchased many years ago. He has never fired it, since he bought it on an impulse (I'll see if I can take it off his hands one of these days and use it to it's potential). This particular model has the key lock in the bolt. I know this was made when Remington was trying to add new safety features to their rifles. I'm not fond of this feature and would think reliability wouldn't be there when considering harsh conditions(snow, ice....). Is there a simple way to replace this feature or would a new bolt have to be purchased?
