Best I can determine, on my own, is that this particular action is already pretty good, with respect to machining straightness.
The front receiver face seems to be very square to the body.
If I have the barrel threads cut oversize, for "accurizing" purposes, they are now a custom thread. I'm considering having my Smith
do this operation because it's getting a new barrel, and the new barrel threads will match the new receiver threads.
But what if I subsequently get a different barrel ?
How will the next Smith, who might be different, determine how to cut the new barrel threads to what are now custom threads in the receiver,
not standard 1.0625 x 16 Remington threads ?
How does a machinist determine and match custom threading ?
I'm worried that cutting oversize threads into a receiver renders the receiver a Useless Bastard Child.
