6.5 Creedmoor is comparable to the 260 Rem and the 6.5X47 Lapua.

There is essentially no recoil on a 260R or 6.5L if the rifle weight is over 14lbs or so. I have fired both w/ and w/o brakes and there is very very little felt recoil - they are beautiful like that. Never fired a 284N so no comment there.

All would be between the 243 and 25-06 shooting 100 gr bullets.

Is there anywhere that has a number rating to the recoil? Seems to me I saw an article that had a number value attached to it with the 6.5x55 having a value of 12.9, 30:06 at 23 but 6.5x47 wasn't listed.
I'm looking at a hunting rifle for my fiancée and she is concerned about recoil (currently shooting a .223 no problem) and was considering a 6.5x55 because of the low recoil and ability to take any game around my place within the distances presented. Then I started thinking about the 6.5x47 but can't find much info on it as far as recoil goes. I wouldn't think it would be too bad but.... don't want to scare her off of shooting or hunting by giving her something that is going to hurt her.

Yeah I know - old post but it came up in a search I did

6.5 Grendel. Good to 3-400 on deer and zero felt recoil.

Ditto! One of the best calculator around for felt recoil comparison.

I know there’s lots CM haters around but.........

I would think the 6.5 Creedmoor would be an excellent choice for a youth or lady hunter, accurate with low recoil and a multitude of affordable ammunitions available as well as most rifle companies offering it chambered in their lineups

It’s the most popular cartridge on the planet right now so it just makes sense !
Nothing wrong with the 6.5x55 but where I live you have better chances of winning the lottery than finding a box of loaded 6.5x55 ammo !
