hey guys, got a question of comparable recoil. what other cartridges could these be likened to? in an equal weight rifle.

There is essentially no recoil on a 260R or 6.5L if the rifle weight is over 14lbs or so. I have fired both w/ and w/o brakes and there is very very little felt recoil - they are beautiful like that. Never fired a 284N so no comment there.

could anyone give like a more than x caliber but less than y caliber. kinda keep it within the normal ones; 30-06, 308, 243, 270, 26-06,etc. thanx guys, sorry to be so picky lol. o, and rifle weight will be like 11-12lbs.

7-08 with 140gn bullets same as 260 with 140gn bullet
25-06 with 130gn bullets same as 6.5-284 with 140gn bullets

I have 2 260's one with a 24in barrel the other has a 28in barrel they wiegh between 10 and 13 lbs i shoot 140gr in both and notice no felt recoil with either and always see my hits with both. they both have 6.5-20x50 leupold mark 4's.gun)

Is there anywhere that has a number rating to the recoil? Seems to me I saw an article that had a number value attached to it with the 6.5x55 having a value of 12.9, 30:06 at 23 but 6.5x47 wasn't listed.
I'm looking at a hunting rifle for my fiancée and she is concerned about recoil (currently shooting a .223 no problem) and was considering a 6.5x55 because of the low recoil and ability to take any game around my place within the distances presented. Then I started thinking about the 6.5x47 but can't find much info on it as far as recoil goes. I wouldn't think it would be too bad but.... don't want to scare her off of shooting or hunting by giving her something that is going to hurt her.

Yeah I know - old post but it came up in a search I did

6.5 Grendel. Good to 3-400 on deer and zero felt recoil.

I know there's lots CM haters around but.........

I would think the 6.5 Creedmoor would be an excellent choice for a youth or lady hunter, accurate with low recoil and a multitude of affordable ammunitions available as well as most rifle companies offering it chambered in their lineups

It's the most popular cartridge on the planet right now so it just makes sense !
Nothing wrong with the 6.5x55 but where I live you have better chances of winning the lottery than finding a box of loaded 6.5x55 ammo !
