Looking to use one on a upcoming build but I've never had my hands on one. So how do they handle, how's the ergonomics of the pistol grip. Does the piece above your thumb get in the way or make it difficult to manipulate the trigger. Thanks fellas

I run a T5 and love it. The EH-5 should feel the same in the grip area and hasn't ever caused me to be slow on bolt operation. I'll be interested to hear other opinions on the EH-5.

I absolutely love the Eh5-A. But I like thumb hole stocks. The stock is a little heavier than a EH 1 but it's still light. I like the Eh5 better than the McMillan lazzeroni thumbhole.

Also, if you call manners they will send you a demo to check out for a few weeks. The customer service is top notch.

What is actual weight on the EH5-A? They list it at over 3 pounds which is heavier than I want and would probably push me to the EH1. If they had the EH5 with less drop at the comb I'd just order that and call it good!

Thanks for the info. I will call and see if I can get that scheduled for my days off in January. I like thumb hole stocks as long as they are comfortable and put your hand in a good position to work the trigger but some just plain suck. My wife won a savage 17hmr at our local RMEF banquet that had the worst stock I have ever put my hands on. We never even shot the gun, actually just got word that it sold.

I apologize I didn't weigh the stock. If I recall they said it was 2 or 2.5lbs. If you get the non adjustable version it's on the lighter side. I'm sure they can tell you exactly.

I have been trying to find a eh-5a long action, right hand stock. I cannot find one anywhere. Does anybody here know where there is one at for sale?

predator 22,

Usually this topic is full of love/hate comments since some love the thumbhole while others can't stand them.

I have nearly every variation of thumbhole stocks available. There have only been one or two that I didn't like because of fit and I couldn't modify for one reason or another.

Tom's T5A and EH5-A are super examples of hunting compatible thumbholes because of fit and function. I have used the T5A for heavier long range hunting rifles (and competition of course) and the EH5 / EH5-A for the lighter weight versions.

They are harder to find because Tom doesn't run them as frequently as some of the other Hunter or Tactical models.

Regards.
