I think a "Davy Crocket" handheld nuke would be fun. They declassified them a few years ago, so you can google them these days.

THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.My wife and I have separate accounts and we split the bills and "extras" as evenly as possible. As long as the bills are paid (and I get her and my daughter a few surprises here and there) she NEVER says a word about my firearms "stuff". God, I love that woman!
My Wife and I have done the same.
Been working for us for 35 years.

My wife and I both grew up on wheat and cattle ranches and went through good and bad times and know the value of a dollar(her more than me.)
. I've been blessed to be married to the most amazing woman for 44 plus years and we have worked really worked hard to get we're at today. Over the years she hasn't ask for much and I bought what I wanted within reason and she rarely questioned the number of firearms that came and went through the door. 20 years ago we bought a custom built green house and had it delivered and set up. I came home one might and she asked if I'd go close it up for the night. When I got to the green house there was a custom built sign above the door that said ( My Perazzi.) Ten years ago she came home with a $9000.00 sewing machine ,my reply was , honey you going to enjoy that for a long time. This winter she came out to the shop to check on some exotic plants she put in the shop for the winter when she noticed the 70 cases of trap shells stacked in the back corner. Last week she went to a sewing expo and came home with a new $20,000 sewing machine that is capable of wiping your back side and god only knows what else it can do. I gave her a big hug and a big kiss and told her how much I loved her , told her that we worked had to get were we are and you deserve it. She smiled and said I'm sure I will. I'm so lucky to be blessed to be married to the most understanding woman in the world. ( What do I build Next?) Maybe a sewing table , this thing is a beast.

Oh my goodness! I'm not going to show my wife your post. I don't want her getting anymore ideas than she already has about updating her sewing room. As I'm sure you know, sewing and quilting machines can be outrageously expensive. I could buy a really nice firearm and the do-dads that go with it and still not touch the cost of some of those machines. Reloading can get mighty expensive as well, but fabric to keep these sewing machines going is also sky high. I'm not sure if my meager hobby can hold a candle to my wife's! But the pleasure (and work) that sewing gives my little bride makes it all worth while.
I'm amazed at how many people ask my wife to make them a quilt or such and don't have a clue as to the time and cost involved. Sort of like the work and cost to get good at a high end shooting competition.

After reading some of these posts, I really need to start appreciating my wife more!
She doesn't have any expensive hobbies! But, she does love to hunt and when younger with better knees….she packed-out quite a few elk quarters over the years. We still enjoy a little traveling or going out occasionally and spending time out in the boonies in our camper While far from "roughing it"…….outside is still "Mother Nature" at her best!
She's also very frugal……never spending "large" money unless it's truly justified. We would save a little cash to buy the best stuff that we could afford at the time…..thinking "long term" usage!
She's, actually we, are still using the same rifles, binoculars, and gear that we used in the '90's!
The money saved over the past 30+ years has enabled us to live a decent retirement. We ain't rich…..but we're OK!
But, our rifles still kill, the Swarovski's still work (see) good, and our gear does as is required. At our age…..it's not really justifiable to purchase a bunch of new stuff that will be later sold in a yard sale! memtb
