Another good powder mix is Suprform,,, it works with 150 to 180 gr boolitz.
A fellow on our local Web forum was having issues launching the longer boolitz out of his 1:11 twist rifle,,, so I gave him a hand full of both 168 HPBT and 178 ELD-X / M's to try...
Bingo,,, things are looking much better on paper with both of these bullets,,, the Hornady book rates them in the lower class of at """least""" or no less than 1:12,,, that is why I built my F Class barrel on a 1:10 1/4...
Yes,,, its nice to see the 1.50 and higher number on the spin rate chart,,, but again,,, it really depends on the rifle if it likes it or not...
Another reason I shoot the 180gr weigth boolitz and heavier is for critter Punch-Junk and I find that my over all 10 shoot strings bunch up tighter """over all"""...
Don't get me wrong, the 130's,,, 150,,, 165/8's are good hunting or target application work good,,, but I'm not a fan of them since I'm old school...
A few of us got schooled a few years ago as we battled the for top spot on the summer match... We we're grinning from ear to ear with our 185 Juggernauts,,, be dammed if a fellow didn't kick our @$$'es as his 200 grain'ers as they bucked the winds a fraction better. Ha...
At least we ended up chasing his shirt tails with 2nd and 3rd spot. LOL...
Getting schooled is good.
