Top go-to powder for 30-06 with 168-172s

I haven't loaded much for the 30-06 but obviously there's guys on here with years and years of experience loading for the 30-06 before the "cool" calibers took over.
I've got a 22in proof savage ultralite on the way and planning to shoot the 172 speer impact with the 168 berger classic hunter being a backup. I've got access to quite a selection of powder.

What would be the top 2 go-to powders for my setup?

H4350 is hard to beat. Upper tier velocity wise, and stable and reliable performance. It's my go to for 168 class in 30-06

Staball 6.5 is capable of very high velocity according to manuals, though I've heard some folks say it's hit and miss for accuracy. I'd certainly invest in a pound to find out...

I have had good luck with RL 16 (~58.5 should get your 168 going about 2850), which is in that similar burn rate window to H4350. About 59.0 of H4350 should get similar speeds.

Always had good luck with 4350. Prefer hodgen and accurate over IMR.

Run with it. Please share the results. I could get some guidance too. Too busy with 308 and 6.5CM.

My best load for my 30-06 is IMR 4350 59 GR and a 150 GR Nosler Accubond. It does really well on Deer and Elk. Should be around 2900-3000 FPS Depending on Barrel Length. My 30-06 is a Ruger M77 Hawkeye with a 22 Inch Barrel. It shoots 1 inch or under groups pretty consistently with this load. As far as heavier bullets I haven't ever really messed around with them.

Imr4831& a 168 A max is all the 22" Tikka altralite likes. You might have drop tube it

Almost always 4350 but got good results with Rldr 19. Hard to go away from H4350 with its temperature insensitivity.

IMR 4064 was always a good choice in the 30-06……but, it doesn't give the highest velocities! memtb

Reloader 22 with cci 250's will put a smile on your face, accuracy with fantastic velocity, here in the South, it simply works!
