Check out night force website for their new an improved scopes
Better glass, 5-25 power, and 120 Moa elevation!
A lot more as well!

I wonder what the reticule thickness is going to be on the B.E.A.S.T... gonna need to be pretty thin for a 25X scope.

I was wondering when nightforce would come out with more magnifacation.

This is what I have been waiting for. Almost exactly what I wanted and asked for in an earlier thread.

Here is what I requested.
* Minimum top end power of 22 x but a little more would be nice.
* Sub-tensions to be no wider that .070 ( Like the NP-R1 thinner would be fine)
* Second Focal Plane only (tried the FFP and hated them)
* .25 MOA Turrets and MOA Reticle (MOA only for me)
* Minimum of 100 MOA total elevation ( more would be great!!)
* A zero stop of some sort is something I really like.
* Price not to exceed $2500 or so.

The only thing I see than I don't like about the new ATACR is the only one reticle option for MOA. The MOAR reticle is thicker than what I like (RN-R1) wonder how long before we could get it with a NP-R1?

Also wonder what the price will be?

Looks like a great scope for my new LRKM. I better find some extra work to fund it.:) And sell the brand new 5.5~22 x56 NXS ZS HS I have on the shelf for it.

.140 The only offered reticle in the ATACR for MOA is the MOAR reticle. For comparison the RP-R1 is .070

Broz: I called and spoke to Nightforce. The ATACR, 2nd focal plane only, price point somewhere around $2400. Length is 14.3" and weighs in at 38.4 ounces. The BEAST, 1st focal plane only, price point somewhere around $3500. The length is 15.37 but I forgot to ask about the weight. Sorry. Availability is unknown at this time, however, may be sometime after SHOT 2013!

Thanks for the info, saves me a call. The ATACR SFP is all I would even consider for the intended purposes I have for the scope, ELR.

31 Oz, for the NXS and 38.4 for the ATACR. So another 7 .4 oz. That is about what I expected for a 34mm tube and added glass.

I was hoping for under $2500 so I guess the extra $450. is not bad over the retail price of a loaded NXS.

Jeff

PS: the beast FFP weighs in at 39 oz.

The ATACR is also about 3/4" shorter than the 5.5~22 NXS

.

I really like the ATACR! Seriously going to take a hard look at it. Wondering if it is going to be worth the extra 4-500$! Hoping the ED glass is worth it.

This would be for my 6.5-284 build. It might be a little much, as it would have way more elevation adjustment than I'll ever need.

Yeah, you need the one I bought a month or so ago... But hey, the ATACR would be all you will ever need for a long time if you ever build a 338 or something.:)

There are a lot of guys moaning and groaning on The Hide about not getting what they wanted but I think most guys will be pretty happy. They should have come out with an FFP ATACR as well and I think everyone would have been happy.

If the glass on the ATACR is as good as they say, and along with the other features it brings, it would be about the perfect ELR scope IMO. The MOAR is my favorite reticle they have and with the better glass and features what isn't to like.

The patented features on the BEAST, that have yet to be released with enough info to really understand them, are going to be interesting. SHOT should be interesting this year with lots of new scopes hitting the market.

If you scroll down on the pages all the specs are available now for the BEAST and ATACR. I don't know however what the subtentions are for their new reticles. Anyone see those yet?

.140 for the MOAR which is twice as thick as the RP-R1 and what I dislike about this reticle for ELR. The added 20 moa of elevation will get me to 3000 plus with the LRKM and I really wish for a thinner reticle in the future with this scope. .140 at 3K is over 4 1/4" of covered target.

Ya, that one has been out for a while. I don't think they have specs for the new ones yet, ie the MIL-R, IHR.

Just can't understand why they won't offer the thin reticle and the adjustable illuminated reticle as found on the BR.
