Hello, I'd like to thank the admins for my approval! Look forward to all the informational threads !
My first question to throw out there, is recommendations on a long range adjustable scope for my Remington 700 6mm and Ruger American 308? Trying not to break the bank on a purchase, being new to trying to reach out to 500 yds or less , for now! Any help would be appreciated! Tom

It usually comes down to budget, some have a large budget some of us don't. How much will not "break the bank"? With an intended $$ limit, members here can get a better idea of what to recommend.

Do you prefer FFP or SFP? Required magnification range? Mil or MOA?

You'll quickly find that 500yds is very doable & you'll be looking to push it farther out. My advice would be to get a better optic than you think you need right now to ensure you don't outgrow it. A lot of shooters have been in that scenario & it isn't very fun, or cost effective.

Ffp w/ $500 or less

Welcome to forum. There are a significant number of people in your situation. Scopes suitable for long range in FFP at $500 or less are not really easy to find. It would probably be best to look for demos or used scopes if this what you are looking for. You don't need high end zoom or top quality glass to be successful, but reliable tracking and return to zero are critical. I'm not a big fan of Vortex scopes, but you can find significant discounts on their scopes in market. Good luck!

If you keep checking the classifieds here you can often find a great used scope and save some $ in that range there's quite a few options from Burris, vortex and although not well known ,sightron as well as others. 500$ can get you into a good repeatable scope not sure on the ffp as they typically run a bit more. Possibly a 1st gen pst could be had around that

Within the budget you stated

I like the Nightforce SHV line. You won't find these new in your price range but you may be able to pick one up within (or close to) your budget if you buy used.
Vortex has lines that fit in any price range. I have never been able to get too excited about them as I usually buy higher end stuff BUT you can't beat their warrantee so it may be a good option in <$500. price range.
