My new Long Range toy!

Went and picked it up yesterday and went out and did some breaking in of the barrel today. Its not much to look at but it is looking like it is going to perform quite well. Will be shooting for groups tomorrow and will post some pics of that.

Oh, funny story... You know the problem you had picking it up yesterday? Well I topped that big time this afternoon. I went to pick up a 338 edge I had shipped in to me. Got to the gun shop, went to cut the heavy ties holding the case together. Slipped with the knife and off to the ER we went. 4 internal stitches to pull my knuckle casing back together and 8 external stitches to close the gaping hole in my left hand.

Worst part is I still have not seen the rifle and have to go back and get it tomorrow.

Some days a guy just can't win..

Jeff, your relationship with that new rifle has not started out in the right foot, and I suspect it will deteriorate from here. In an effort to save you more pain, have your dealer send it to me immediately. I'll give you supervised visitation every few months.

I am beginning to agree Frankiln, but at least the Doc says this will all heal well and only loss of some feeling in it. That means next time it won't hurt. I welcome any part that does not ache or hurt...



I agree that rifle has plenty of good looks. And the components used are enough glitter for me.

Can't wait for the range report and then some killer rock hunting. I have a feeling you are going to be fond of the .338, as am I.

It is actually one I am setting up for a friend. But I wanted to bloody it first, well I did the case at least.

Yea..yea...you mounted the scope. Mike actually did a lot. I sent all the parts up to him for the gunsmith to put together and then mike was gonna test it out for me before sending it back but he got really busy so I am testing it out. Big thanks to Mike though.

Oh and when I said it wasn't anything fancy, I meant that I just kept it simple. A lot of people get the stock designs, cerakote the barrel etc and it looks awesome but I just decided to keep it all plain. I am very happy with the outcome.
