I dug into my stash and found the R-P brass. It's new/unfired. Works for me. I've got some Lapua unfired I need to get out.

Oh Pee can you measure the shoulder on the brass that will and won't fit? That is likely the issue.

I have an update, somewhat belated, I purchased a Redding & Hornady full length bushing die. I could feel a little more resistance from the Redding die, it was better but still not acceptable. I screwed the Hornady die in and viola it made a difference. Now I'm not using the bolt to resize brass. I also called Sierra tech line , suggested that I use a .308 die sans decap/expander. That got me a little closer. But the Hornady was the ticket.
