Differences between SPS and BDL

Other than cosmetic differences of different stocks, when Remington created SPS 700 rifles are they still the same old BDL or has something been changed mechanically? Do these rifles fit into any BDL designed stock? In handling one I thought the answer was yes.

They are mechanically the same. Just cosmetic diffs.
If comparing to the BDL's in the last few years, the only diff would be the absence of the bolt shroud lock (which is a good thing).
