No idea, but consider it's shot placement, shot placement, shot placement, and "nerve reaction" that makes an animal drop immediately. By "nerve reaction" I mean, when you touch a hot stove your hand jerks back even though no kinetic energy was transferred.
Other than severing an element of the CNS, shoot 5 different animals with the same bullet impacting at the exact same velocity, in the exact same spot, and you will likely get 5 different reactions.

Call McWhorter's and ask for Kyle. He may answer the phone anyway but ask him since he is in charge of the reloading section there.
Denise was using a Berger 140 HVLD bullet in her 6.5PRC for that shot.
Ultimately, we use whatever bullet the customer demands. When we have influence, in the past we have suggested the Berger HVLD line of bullets, but we have been having great results with the Hornady ELD-X and ELD-M projectiles as of late.

Just curious - have you found that the HVLD bullets perform better than the Hybrids?
Many of the Hybrid bullets are pointed while the HVLD bullets have a little more of an open meplat. That can make a difference in performance in many cases.
