With the amount of available, affordable and effective in ear electronic hearing protection, there is no excuse to shoot any rifle without hearing protection.

Agreed! It's all about the preparation. I have my hearing protection on before I get to my hunting area or step out of my vehicle at the range.

That's why I said IN EAR electronic protection. They stay in all the time and enhance your hearing at the same time.

I think you can over analyze it, but I am a beast fan out Idaho. Great service and good price.
I have a 4 port on my 300wm. And it reduces recoil tremendously. But anything similar to that set up would probably work as well.

I have an EC tuner brake on my 300wm and it made a huge difference.

APA's lil bastard with a cone of shame and 419's Hellfire Ti both give a pretty good balance between concussion (at least for the shooter) and effectiveness.

Well then you must hunt in the land of the deaf. lol Anyone who actually likes keeping their hearing will use hearing protection. It's so easy now the only excuse for not using it is being lazy. You want to be deaf then have at it. Having lost some and having tinnitus from the Marine Corps I will try and keep every last bit I have but you do you.

Oh yeah, it's probably a worthwhile thing, just never seen anyone doing it, wearing e'm all day. Sometimes in a deer blind guy might slip on the muffs, if he's got some big boomer but, rarely

Yes, Sir! I spent my first 10 years in the flightline generating/maintaining F-4s and A-10s for prolonged exposure to high dB, often 10-12 hours when we are surging. At the time, foamies and headsets were available to us for hearing protection, but not enforced. Most only wear one, if any; I used both. Most of the guys suffered different kinds of hearing loss/damages. I have no hearing loss/damage coming out of the flightline. As noted in #19, I use PPEs at home, too.
