Berger to introduce 7mm 195 gr EOL Hybrid Hunting Bullet

Guys,
The Berger 7mm 195 EOL bullet is now included in our twist rate calculator !!! Again , our apologies for the delay.
Have a great weekend !!!

The .028" was the difference in the average length I measured (1.620") versus what Bryan listed (1.648") not the variance in the OAL I measured from the bullets I have. The OAL difference I saw was only .007" and that was due to a rough metplat on the longest one. Most were within .002". What I wasn't sure about, because I didn't spend the time to run it through the calculator, was the effect the .028" difference would make on stability. I doubt it's much or even noticeable unless your already on the ragged edge.

Nate

I put the numbers in the Berger calculator only changing the length from 1.620 to 1.648. It changed the Stability from 1.54 to 1.47. Length of the bullet, even when very minor had a larger effect on stability than I would of thought.

does anyone have quickload? I wanted to get some guestimates on powder range before I start loading up my rounds.... I know it doesn't have the bullet, but the barnes 195 would suffice to just get me data to analyze. I have wildcat with a 91 grn case capacity to the top of the neck based off the 7mm weatherby case. I wanted to try reloder 33 and h1000 and compare them.

Trappers son

I run mine from a 7 Dakota using Retumbo.

I expect that Retumbo, RL-33, VV570, and H1000 will all work for your use.

I have a bullet profile entered for the 195 Berger in QL. This profile worked well in producing powder chgs for my 28Nosler. Here you go. Start low and work up carefully! This is a case capacity of 91gr of water.

Wow that is freekin awesome.... Thank you so much.... I can finally go in without being blind and scared of blowing myself up.....HA You are the first person I have heard of that has the 195 berger bullet profile... I will have a bit more confidence now.... thank you....
I appreciate that you set the max psi to 62,000 as well. it will give me some wiggle room so I am not getting close to the wall. it will help save my brass and my head..
You are the MAN Blacktail!!! God bless you sir.... I owe you a round or something.... In the meantime you have my gratitude...
This is a quality forum because of the rich knowledge and experiences shared freely amongst good people. It helps keep the American traditions of the outdoorsmen alive....
Cheers

The one 7 to rule them all !

The band of bruisers spawned by the Big Jeff have a new member join the clan Jeffery .........
He goes by the name 7mm Slayer, and also known as the 7mm S.O.B
( Slayer of Bodies ) .....

Rifle is built on a Sako M995 TRGS donor with a 30" Bartlein 5r 7 twist barrel , reamer in production at JGS and will be available to order by anyone in a few months .......
My intention is to run with the 3.850" Accurate Mags so cartridge oal with the Bergers is at 3.750"
case h20 capacity is 140 gr to top of case mouth and 136 gr to neck/shoulder junction

in photo below are die formed Norma cases set up for fireforming ......... dimensions are pretty close and will sharpen up/fill out when fired ....... Norma brass was easy to neck down without annealing,
something not possible with Jamison made 500 Jeffery brass .....
