I'm shooting the 115gr Barnes tac-tx out of a howa mini action with a 20" barrel. 160# whitetail didn't go 20yds. Hogs are head shots so boom-flop. I hear leverevolution is a good powder but it's not a "posted load" so work up slowly!

Try the 99gr hammer hunters and work up to somewhere around 30gr xbr.Ok I have XBR 8208 and my rifle likes it too

I ran 30.4 grains of AR Comp in my 20" AR. COAL 2.280". Average velocity was 2844fps.
Obviously back off and work up in your gun.
I use C Products mags. That is the absolute longest length I can run.
There are some windowed mags out there that will allow 2.300'ish but I've yet to try any.

I have some that are pretty long. I'd never remember the name of the manufacturer but they are very long for ar mags.

Now that Corlanes is a Hammer Bullet dealer up here in BC I will order a box of 97 or 99 Gr-ers to try out !

I have used the 100gr Nosler Ballistic Tip and the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter. They both shot super accurate out of my AR and they both expanded and retained weight very well when I shot them into wet news print. I have dispatched several coyote with both bullets.

Juat found a private sale and got 300 Speer Gold Dot 6.5 120 gr bonded bullets .A LOT of fellows say these are a Great Grendel bullet for accuracy and Killing animals !
I am loading some up right now underneath CFE223 powder with some CCI 450 sparklers .
any one with experiences with this bullet ?

The Gold Dot typically does work great within its expansion velocity threshold. Just be aware generally speaking they will be pretty slow.
I've found lighter weight bullets in the 100-110 grain range at higher velocity kills faster.

I didn't have much luck with accuracy from the gold dots with my rifle. I wanted them to work due to cost but alas....
