338 XC, Snipetac, or EnABELR

I took my 33XC to Wyoming and killed a cow at 785 Yards. The good news is that I didn't have to carry it too far, we had some horses that packed most of the gear in to camp. Still, it is below 13 lbs (I believe 😬) and I watched the bullet impact the elk and drop her.
I'd say this one is double that weight, my little 260 is 16# and this 338 is quite a bit heavier, but a horse or mule wouldn't complain.

That's about the weight of h50bmg I use. I shot 1/2" ar500 at 300 yds on the dot and the t-post became instantly unusable, which I guess took a lot of energy from the hit.
my plate is 3/8" thick, but very high quality. nothing else came even close at 300 yards.

you should try 20n29, much better case fill and pressures in mine

338 Cheytac Imp. here.
Ran my first barrel to over 3500fps with Berger 300's.
My new barrel, I'm holding onto a node @ 3280 with 140gr 20n29
Stupid accurate, only been to 2000yds to date, should change when I get a warmer day.
Have a nice 3000yd spot.

how much powder did it take to get over 3,500?

Well, I went and looked in my file and as suspected, I threw out the data with the barrel, sorry.

I was using N570 and it got there easily.
im surprised that n570 wasnt too fast burning for that improved case.

n570 is certainly some magical stuff, it works wonders in my benchrest style 300 rum
