More load development with the 338 Edge, this time it's the 265 gr Cutting Edge MTH Max bullets with a .800 bc printed on box....... Alliants Reloder 26 powder... case prep was the same as last time from the same batch of 300 RUM Norma brass, new unfired just necked up.....

This is a single shot load due to the OAL of the loaded cartridge..
the 265 gr bullets were seated just off the case mouth and the Hornady OAL gauge with the #33 comparator shows .020" off the rifling but it's a bore rider bullet so I wasn't worried about encountering pressure spikes.............
Loaded up single rounds with charges shown above, fired with Magnetospeed chronograph attached for velocities, signs of pressure found in the 94.0 gr load with bolt lift a bit tighter than normal and a faint full moon mark on case head visible if held at the correct angle in the light, stopped there and did not shoot loads 94.5 thru 96.0 gr, backed down to 93.0 gr and fired 5 shots at 100 yards without Magnetospeed attached for an awesome group caught on video, I believe I need not mess with this load anymore until I see what it does at 500 plus yards..... did not have any water jugs to shoot at the time but have more ammo loaded and will blast some on the next trip out .........
should be a good load for squirrels and ptarmigan !
