338-375 Ruger Demon

Good to see this thread getting revived yet again.

Yorke and Jasent both inspired me to build a 338-375 Ruger. I actually bought my reamer from AZshooter. My build was based off a savage action. So far I've had great luck with 76.5 gr of H4350 and 250gr Accubonds, average speed was 2912fps over 5 shots and 3/4" at 100. I've put 40 or so rounds down the barrel but have some more loads ready. I tried 250gr Berger Elite Hunters 20k off the lands and the groups and speeds were all over the place. I have them loaded touching the lands now and 2k off so we will see how they do.
In '09 I did a .300-375R, but I wanted the .338 Campfire (what you're describing). My estimations with Quickload showed you can match or slightly beat the .340 Bee. Has it?

Oh heck yeah! You did beat the .340 Weatherby!

I found my notes, QL told me it would be 2875 with a 250.

I'm getting faster speeds than that with 77gr of H4350 at 2938fps. No pressure signs yet. Group was 1" at 100yds. I need to play with seating depths a bit to help tighten that group. I'm sure speeds will increase overtime and the groups will shrink too. I don't plan on going any more than the 77gr of H4350, probably stick with 76.5 for now.

That sounds like a very efficient thumper!

I know this is an old thread but if Swampr is still around or anyone else who built a .338-375Ruger has any updates?

I know @Alex Wheeler and @Rhovee are working with them based upon 300prc, 11tw pipes strictly for 250elite hunter. Im stocked up on 300prc brass and 250s awaiting results, my Brux 11tw rem varm is in Alex's shop. Hoping to hear promising news soon! The only downfall of going 11tw is you're limited to 250 bergers being the highest BC option, everything else has junk bc in this weight class or lighter.

Have you found the performance to be what was expected? I don't own a .338 anymore but the more I look at the .375Ruger case the more I want to try one.
I'm very happy with it I have built a few I get 2855 fps out of the 250 and 7828ssc I could get 40-50 fps more probably with h1000 but it shoot awesome with the 7828ssc. I have taken two elk with it and it preformed great one at 263 and one at 582

Thanks, that's about what I was expecting. What did you do for a reamer and dies?

I have the reamer and I have a set from ch4d dies I know some people bash them but I have had good luck so far with their dies I have a set of 7-375, 30-375, and 338-375 sets

Sounds like you're as hooked as I am. I'd like to at least do the 7-375 Ruger and .338-375 Ruger this year. Shoot me a PM if you like and I'll save that info.
