I use .338 Lapua size magazines for 28 Nosler.
Some brands of 300 WM magazine can be too narrow for Nosler cartridges. I've had 28 Nosler cartridges bind between the aft magazine sidewall creases of 300 WM magazines.
Some brands of 300 RUM magazine have the forward magazine sidewall crease too far forward for Nosler cases, or omit that crease altogether. In my rifles, that allows a 28 Nosler case to slide forward (due to recoil upon firing the rifle) far enough for the bullet to strike the forward wall of the magazine. That problem is avoided in .338 Lapua cases.
