Well I am now back on track with my load development, thanks to everyone that helped me out with the case shoulder questions, and I was woundering what is your guys favorite powder for a 300 Win Mag with a 190gr Burger. I am using H4831sc, and wanted everyones opinion on this power, and others. I am shooting a Rem 700 and so far my rifle is liking 68.5gr.

Im a big fan of 4831 but I think the original works better than the short cut in a 300wm. My theory is that it has something to do with the extra room in the case.

H4831SC is for sure a good powder. I've used it in several different calibers and results vary but accuracy has always been good. I have enjoyed great accuracy with IMR 4831 with the lighter bullets (150gn) in a previous .300WinMag Sendero that I owned.
With the current .300WinMag that I own, I have tried H4350, RL22, RL25 and most recently H1000. The 190gn SMK are producing sub-1/2" MOA at 500yds with this powder and CCI 250's and velocity is running 3145fps on average. JohnnyK.

Shooting 200gr accubond 75gr Rl-25 submin, 200gr SMK or SGK @ 76.5 RL-25
Win brass and a 215M primers. Getting a submin with all three loads......

My son and I both have 300 wins and shoot 210 bergers. Plus I have loaded for several other 300 wins. My favorite powder is H-1000. Just seems to fit the case like it was made for it and accuracy is great.

I started using Ramshot Magnum with 208 amax and it has been very accurate and stable.

Do all powders, reguardless of make, react different at different temps, and humidities? If so to what degree? Are we talking 0.5 to 1.0 inches at 100 yards, or is it at 300 yards? I know all rifles, and bullets are going to react different, but lets talk on average. More specificily the Hodgen powders.

Bullets 200 gr or more H-1000 Bullets 180 gr or less RE-22. My load for paper is 75.5 gr H-1000 208 Amax, My load for wapiti is 76 gr H-1000 and 210 Berger vld.

I am a big user of Hodgdon powder. But I feel that Ramshot Magnum is an often overlooked and underated powder.
It works very well in the 300win.

I had good luck with RL22 in my old 300 WM. I have one on order now and I plan on using the H1000 on it.
