300 weatherby

I have a 6.5 300 and the 270 bee also own 300 win wby and ultra mag the 6.5 300 not bad on recoil if u hunt its awesome the 270bee I have has break to me it recoils bout like a 308 win or less if u reload . The 300 prc basically same as 300 win within a grain or so in powder velocity bout ths same.30 nosler basically a 300 weatherby the 28 nosler is a screamer like the 7 rum and the 27 is a screamer speed distance 6.5 300 or 28 nosler with break good easy to shoot 270 bee . Hope this helps

+1 for keeping it a 300 Roy. Did your father have brass for it? Have a muzzle break put on it when you re-barrel. My accumark with a break doesn't kick at all. My wife has no problem shooting it.

Just loaded my son in laws German made 300 Wby with the 124g Hammer Hunter at 3825 fps. He took a great kudu and an eland with it when we went to Africa in September. Beautiful rifle for sure. I'm thinking Roy is smiling about this old rifle.
Cool, what distance on each in Africa. Any tracking required?

I picked up a new 6.5 x 300 last year .
Found ammo this year but haven't shot it yet.
Hunting season now....
Will shot it come Spring!!

I inherited my dad's west German made mark 5 300 weatherby mag. The chamber and barrel have shot its last rounds. Completely done.

Going to be taking it to a gunsmith to give it new life. Any one have a 6.5 300 or a 270 weatherby mag ? Pros and cons ? How about any 28 nosler owners ?

Not a big fan of recoil but With the Weatherby i can make it into anything with a magnum boltface. 300-6.5, 7 mag, 27-28-30 Nosler, 300 PRC, etc.

I have a 270 Mark V Weatherby and have taken several elk and mule deer with it as well as dozens of white tails. It is the finest rifle I have ever owned. I bought it almost 50 years ago. Bruce

Feenix whats ur wildcat? 338 Kubla Khan?
If you are referring to what I noted in #12, it's .30 LARA; basically an improved .300 Jarrett.

Either 300 WBY or I would consider the 340 WBY. I had a 340 (33 caliber version of Roy's classic belted magnums) and I was surprised and impressed at how the recoil was lighter than I expected, and how much harder 338 caliber hit. The 340 WBY is a PERFECT "big gun" to round out your selection.
