30-284?

I was loading today for it! Finally feeling better after getting this new strain of C!
I am going to try the 131 HH first. (.284) Bartlett 2B
I have the 150 SH for the .30
Also, a .22-250 sister barrel to the .30 both same contour carbon 6 featherweight @ 22''

Coming from WTO.
Last year I got a wild hair and rebarreled one of my 284s too a 25 -284 fast twist now I have a 284 2 6.5-284s a 25-284 , and after reading this post my as well build a 30-284. It's an addiction. You really can't beat the 284 case it's strong especially Lapua Brass I'm not a big fan of win brass I've got some win that weighs as much as 15 grs apart versus hardly any difference with Lapua.

My only problem is my 284 is custom hunting rifle and shoots VERY well.
I won't take that barrel off to do a switch.
I'm wishing Ida thought of that before building it!
But I happen to have an old Remington donar rifle in the stall.

If the .30-284 Win feels like a good deal, don't overlook the "7.5x55 Swede" a near twin to the .30-284 Win right out of the box, I have one, and it's a smoking good round. Cheers

haha well I feel you! I was going to do a 6.5 but just don't like that caliber...
I might do a .25-284 or .338 but I have a mag bolt coming so may just do a .338WSM just because.

Awe... well, OK.
Have you ever shot or fooled with the 6.5-284?
It's like the easy button for loading a good velocity, extremely accurate round that won't recoil much and has a plethora of different projectiles to choose from.

I understand likes and dislikes , but I would rethink that dislike that 6.5 cal has been a sleeper for way too long . I shot my first buck with a 6.5 Swede in 1963 before 6.5s were cool , now it's just about 6.5 everything. I do like 25s , 7mm and 30s too , might try a 33 cal some time soon.

How does a 33-284 sound

I should have added; that if you can get your hands on some of the GP 11 7.5x55 Swede FMJ ball ammo, just for target work, it is unbelievably accurate. I know folks that Mexican match it to hunt with using 165gr to 175gr bullets and say it's phenomenal.
Cheers
