7.5x55 swiss vs 30-284 winchester

I have a savage 30-06. i like shooting the 190 bergers but being a long bullet to get them to feed from the mag i have to load them sooooo deep. I've found that bergers like to be jammed a good bit. So i was wondering, if i rebarrelled my savage to 7.5x55 or 30-284 i could have bullets that fit the mag and still be in the lands. i read that the info for 30-06, 7.5x55, and 30-284 was really close. what would ya'll suggest. if i went with the swiss do i have to change my bolt face diameter??? would it be worth the extra money to do that if i can get brass for the swiss cheaper??? opinions?

I'd look in a mag extension first.

I've never heard of a mag extension. I dont see how it would work because when my bolt is all the way back the bullet is already started in the chamber. Plus i like the idea of having a different cartridge.
