Well, brass grows SLOWER. But it does grow. I trim about every 4th-5th firing, unlike 20°ish shouldered cartridges which are about every 2nd firing. The 280AI is just like all the other AI's basically trim all to desired length after either fireforming or once fired in chamber and done. AI brass doesnt grow that's one of the +'s
I had good results with the Berger 195 Elite Hunters out of my 27" barrel.I know this is reviving an old thread but a question for all you 280 AI loaders. How often do your trim brass? And how many have you loaded the 190gr/ +190gr bullets? Any loads and velocities?
Do you know what your COAL is? I'm debating whether to keep a FN Belgium Mauser to use as a platform for my build.I had good results with the Berber 195 Elite Hunters out of my 27" barrel.

Nightforce has great tracking capabilities, they are rugged, a bunch of elevation, holds zero forever, and reticles are designed for long range shooting. So if you are looking to shoot long distances constantly, then you need a scope that can take the abuse. -- gilmillan1
Nightforce is such a solid combo of reticle, available elevation, glass that is good enough to shoot at the longest range you can dial. Nightforce has bullet proof construction that can handle the incidental horse rolling or some other rodeo action. -- bigngreen
The total package. Nightforce is the best I have used as far as turret feel and solid detents. I have never had one that didn't track right on and always return to zero. Nightforce NXS is the best value for everything I need. -- Broz
