28 Nosler best powder

Looking at Nosler says the LRT would be a solid powder, and I just got my 175 ABLRs and Berger 180 VLDs in! Now I just need some brass, want to use ADG but cant find any atm
I can vouch for LRT, it is good with 180's & 195's (remember them?) You will need a case full...
175 ABs for me have generally sucked MOA wise, regardless of powder.
180s kill; they are violent in the 7 Nos.
Just remember, between components & a new barrel, every trigger pull == 1$+++
Find a load, stop messing around.
If you want to play with *r*p, shoot some 6 & 6.5. Keep the 7 for killing.

Load N570 for custom Stiller throated for the 195s. It also likes H1000, a little slower but very accurate. 1-8.4 twist. Smokes Nilgai!

Just loaded LRT in a Fierce, haven't shot it yet. Bullets are the 162 ELD-X. Expecting good results. Will also likely try the 168 VLD-H and 175 Elite Hunter. 1-9 twist so can't go too heavy.

I can vouch for LRT—it is the secret sauce in 28 Nosler in bullets lighter than 175 grs and has almost identical burn rate as RL33. I have 10lbs of LRT. I am averaging 3,413fps with a 150gr Swift Scirocco (for Whitetails). My Elk medicine is 95grs of H-870 with a 175gr ELD-X averaging 3,265 fps. I realize they don't make H-870 anymore; however I have several pounds of it so I am using it up. I am bumping my shoulders .002" using Nosler and Hornady brass. Prefer ADG or Lapua but couldn't find any at the time I bought my 28 Nosler.

Recently purchased a Fierce firearms 28 Nosler . I have 40 rounds down the barrel, did break in exactly as suggested by MFG. Now I'm looking to start load development. This gun will be used for hunting elk out to 800 yards. My goal is to get a good hunting round (168 - 175 grn) shooting 1/2 MOA or less at 3100 fps or greater. I currently have some Nosler 168 ABLR, Hornady 175 ELD-X, and soon some 175 ABLR. For powders I have RL 33, Norma 217 and US869 (retumbo and H1000 are hard to find in my area, no stores have in stock currently). I don't have the time to go perform a ladder test on all the different powders and bullet combination. I'm looking for suggestions on what people are seeing for the best powder for bullets in this weight range. This will be my first attempt at the ladder test to find the best powder charge. Also how will temperature affect a ladder test on these powders? I will be doing this in 30 degree heat range, if I'm hunting in 60 degree range will the load totally change?
Thanks in advance for advice!
I had good luck with my Rival with US869 and 175 ELD X. I tried several powders N570 Retumbo and H1000 and with 180 Bergers and could not get them to group consistently

If you don't mind, what's your load using N570? Their data doesn't show loads for the 28. I've contacted them and they said they would eventually get some 28 data.
Most with the 195 and N570 are between 81gr to 82.5. Mine likes 82gr

I wouldn't go any lighter than the 175's you have. The 28 will really shine with heavier bullets like 180-195. Start off with the Reloder 33. I'm pushing the 195's at 3030fps in my rifle with 83.4 grains of R33, CCI 250s and soft Nosler brass. It has another good node at 3175fps with 87 grains of R33. The rifle is a custom build and throated for the 180s but your Fierce should reach 3000fps+.
Be conservative with your ladder test and R33. That stuff is like pixie dust lately. I do have some N570 if I can't find any soon but I'm holding out before working up a load with N570. The throat is pretty abused already. Both R33 and N570 are very dirty powders so be diligent with your cleaning regimen. I read that IMR8133 has been discontinued so I don't know if I would bother with it.

The US869 should be right on with the 175 ELD-X. I am told that US869 was the powder that replaced H-870 so it stands to reason that this would shoot great and group well with the 175 ELD-X. My Browning Hells Canyon 28 Nosler loves 95gr of H-870 with 175gr ELD-X. Good speed and great accuracy. Thanks for sharing.

I agree 100% about not going lower than 175's with the 28 Nosler as it really shines with the heavier bullets. The only reason I loaded up some 150's was for North Louisiana whitetails and it's really too much averaging over 3,400fps. I am loading 95grs of H-870 (very similar to US869--maybe just slightly faster but not much), using CCI 250s, 175 ELD-X, bumping my shoulders .002", using Nosler and Hornady brass (I do not mix brass, I keep all my manufacturers grouped separately) and averaging 3,265 fps. As everyone has stated--high performance comes with a price. I've been told that you can expect no more than about 700 rounds if you are lucky out of a 28 Nosler barrel. Thanks for sharing.

I sent my bolt to PTG to have m16 extractor installed. Once I get it back going to try with 180 berger

I know you said you can not find H1000, but my hunting load with the Nosler 175 ABLR is 77.2 gr H1000. They were pushing 3050 fps. I've also had good results with Retumbo, which is also hard to find now.
Curious, May I ask what your seating depth in with the 175s.? I'm 77.5gr H1000 and tuning depth now. I had a few suggestions I'm going to try . I started at .010
