Have you guys looked at the ffp prs1 moa reticle? Looks fantastic for LR hunting. Has floating center dot, 40moa drop and 20 moa windage built in. Illuminated for low light situations. I will most definitely have to take a look at one!

VX5 4-20x52. What a major disappointment to me that they are making it in a 34mm Tube. If it was 30mm I would have been buying a couple.
they make it 34mm to sell it to the bigger is better seal team 6 wanna be, PRS types. I mean bigger is better right? its marketing pure and simple. made for the guys who carry the gun 100 ft from the backseat of their truck to the gun range.

Better be FFP then since I don't know of many PRS types rocking vx5s.

No kidding - if they are SFP my mind will be blown. At that point you are catering towards F class/long range target shooting. I mean, I guess I could throw a 34mm tube on a hunting rifle, I just have no need or desire. Maybe they believe people like me are in the minority. What a sweet magnification range for a long range elk rifle though. I am currently using a 3-15, but would gladly go to 4 on the low end to gain 5 up top.

the market is going to shift back to second focal plane. if you are hung up on FFP use a scope with less power. no need for more than 15x on a hunting rifle.

I like FFP but it almost has to be illuminated, as I can't see thin reticles at low light hunting otherwise. My current setup is SFP and I just don't love it for wind holds. It works but FFP is easier.

i would be willing to bet this vx5 is SFP though
