I'd have to FIRST set up a Go Fund Me account to be able to afford to try it with my SML. H4895 and Pittman bullets ain't cheap. I'd be confident out to 400 yards which I regularly shoot, but that's my "nature imposed" limit around my neck of the woods. My confidence would drop sharply on anything much further having not been able to practice it first. With a hunting rifle, whatever you actually hunt with.
See that's where I disagree, there is no clock. If you aren't 100% ready and comfortable to take the shot there is absolutely no requirement to do so, do not rush it, that's how animals get wounded unnecessarily.Ok, so for you you're comfy with taking all the time you need, I prefer to be on the animals clock
Both options would be fun to do. I'm more of a hunter/shooter than I am a hunter/sniper hence my vote for a clock. No right or wrong here, just different ways and that's what makes this all so interesting and fun. (at least for me)
