600 yards

I was finally able to get time and set up for 600 yards. I was using a plastic chair and the tailgate on a side by side as the bench. Hit 8 of my 10 on a 16" plate. Gun was a Remington 700 SPS in 308.

Looks like you're having fun….. keep up the good work brother. I remember when I got my first steel target…oh it was so much better than having to drive down and look at my group on paper. I love the instant feedback of steel.

That's what you use on steel…..much better than hitting steel with a dead fish! memtb

These are factory loads. Federal 168 Sierra. Once these are gone I will reload. Planning on the same bullet with Varget powder.

Back in the day my reloads with 150 Sierra boatails ,outshot Factory Federal Match 168 Sierra match kings ,my friend was shooting his new Remington 40X in 308 and my rounds fix his chamber and printed 1/2 at 100 yds, 168 s printed 3/4 , moral factory can be beat ,Cheers

That's awesome. The tailgate was my first "long range" rest as well. Next year, you'll be shooting an 8 inch plate! Keep it up!

That's awesome! I bet you can shrink those groups by going Prone, rather than a tailgate. tailgate will have the slightest movement.
168's are great to around 800, you will be better served to jump to the 175's past that and the 150-155's! The 150's are what the bench shooters use and do extremely well, they aren't even BT bullets.
