Really? Then go with 12# 338 Terminator with 27" barrel to get 3000+ fps. Good on game to 1200 yds.

It's just an idea. Looking at the numbers more, the recoil would be too extreme for anything under a 12 pound rifle in 33xc.
100%.... recoil would be unmanageable with that light of a rifle in mountain conditions
10# is doable with careful parts selection.
338 Norma Mag Improved is very shootable in a 10# rifle.
As an owner and very avid hunter with 338-378Wby. Don't waste the time and money on the 30-378Wby. If you want the juice, then have Shawn Carlock build you a 300 Terminator. The brass can be formed from any 338 Lapua cartridge and brand. There's no belt to deal with and it's not 100.00 for 20 pieces of brass. The ballistics are so close, you'll never know the difference. Also the 300 Terminator fits a 3.950" max box.
hmmmm, you got me thinking. Have you personally shot the powerful wildcat 338's in 10lb rifles? I'm curious of how the recoil is.
My 338-378Wby is 10.4lbs scoped. Shooting 300gr Bergers at 2920fps. It's manageable, but you're not spotting shots under 300 or 400 yards.
