What is the rifle you passed by that you regret not buying

Winchester model 70 300 H&H pre 64 in leather case, opened had a pic of a Factory, Embordered Holland and Holland. 1998, $1,300. Still sad.

I didn't know Browning offered the BOSS on a .375 H&H. But yes, they list it in the "BOSS settings" with 270 and 300 grn bullets. I was dissapointed they never offered it in the Win M70.

Mine was a Remington 541 22LR, I knew if i bought, wouldn't get much use.
Another was H&K 630 223 sporter style rifle, looked ridiculous, but I bet it ran, still want one.

I forgot could have gotten a m60 for $1200 in 1982 I didn't want to have to pay the $200 tax so I skipped it .I also passed on a double rifle in 405 won for $3600 .A rem xp100 repeater in 260 for $400

2012 within about three months from each other I turned down two Barrett M107's in Barrett cases with Ammo and Bi-pod's. One had a Leopold scope and the other had a NF. One for 1500 and the other 1000. Couldn't do it because I lived in the wrong State and I didn't want to loose my FFL.

Then missed out on a fully loaded, unfired Barrett 416 with a bunch of accessories and ammo for 3200. If only I had a time travel machine.

I had to build my own A4gery (Hey if they can use M4gery) No way I could afford (actually No way the spousal unit would approve) the real deal these days. The CMP Armorers have to approve the "correctness" of the build(s) before we're allowed to compete with them. .... but would I love to have the real deal.

I just picked up one of these rifles, thanks in large part to this thread. A browning A bolt 2 in 243 popped up on gunbroker, and I won the auction for it about 2 hours ago. Didn't have the spare cash but I'll make it work. You NEVER see short action a bolts for sale, let alone for under a grand. I have a collection of calibers but no short action yet. So, thanks for the encouragement!

I forgot this one had it in my hands to buy .It was a 358 STA shooting times Alaskan super grade model 70 Winchester .They only made 18 of them I should have put it on layaway that day .They have to be worth some money these days .I have never seen anyone say they had one or shot one besides the magazine articles about it.I just bought some 375 Weatherby brass reminded me of 358 STA .

Two more I forgot about .
Nothing special but the shop was selling them at cost because they had been
on the shelf for awhile.

Recently a buddy put me in contact with a person that was liquidating an older gentleman's considerable collection....
the one that caught my eye was a Pre 64 Winchester 70 in 30-06, the stock was original & in pretty good shape, also had older Leupold scope, maybe original to rifle..... The serial number on the rifle indicated it was made in 1941....
The guy sent me several pictures & it looked great, $1,200.00 & it could be mine, sounded reasonable to me, but not my better half who has gracefully tolerated my firearm bug for "too many years already for her", I do have to give her credit, i have several that are way more than i thought id ever own.
Since this one is clearly a collectable "want" item & not a "need" so i let this one pass......this time, lol

2007 I was working a project just outside Sidney, NE. After work one day I wandered into the Cabela's Gun Vault. Weatherby Mark V in .460 Weatherby Magnum. 1 year old and fired 11 times, by someone who took it to Africa. $1600 and a box and half (almost) of ammo. Would'a been a great Prairie Dog gun

The stuff we value because of nostalgia, won't mean anything to the 20something knuckle heads coming up behind.

They'll all be lusting for minty Tikkas.

All the cool stuff I always wanted just sits there. Can't replace it now, so I don't use it.

thats a garage sell i dream of finding. The "old guns"!

Another though was a double barrel 444 Marlin I was 10 years ago on GB. It was under $1500. I think the make was Saice out of Italy. That would have been nice

Why am I getting the feeling if we all the money and bought every rifle we liked WE WOULD BE CALLED HOARDERS AND BE ON T.V, like the hoarder show ontv where are kids are cleaning out the house.
