What is the rifle you passed by that you regret not buying

I hesitated on a Rem. Model 7 SS 243 w/ HS precision stock for <$750 because I was in a bind. Should have made it happen and fix the bind later. Man it was a sweet little rifle.

Lots of others as well, but that's the one that jumps out at me today.

For the guy looking for a lever 405 there was a new in the box Teddy Roosevelt listed in the classified section of Coueswhitetail. Com back on the 11th . Not cheap but it's there.

Ouch…. For that price, I would have bought them all. The 788's were real shooters; not lookers, but they could shoot, no doubt

I only have one rifle that I passed on and really regret today. About 35 years ago I saw a brand new Savage Model 99 chambered in 308 Winchester, selling at a gun store for just under $600. I passed because at that time, $600 was a lot of money for a rifle. I regret it now.

I had an opportunity at a very well priced Piercision Custom .300NMI 33° that I passed on. A friend ended up buying it, and, wow, did I make a mistake not jumping on that deal.

I found a custom built .243 on a Manners stock a few months back on another site. The guy originally listed it for $3000 and had it marked down to $1250 just trying to offload it. Still kicking myself for that one.

A Weatherby 460 sold right here on this sight. Was very interested in it and was about to purchase and discussed it with my wife and she talked me out of it. Keep in mind now that at the time I was 74 yrs old with two high powered magnum rifles already. Diddn't need it, just wanted it and regret not getting it.

That's never happened! ( Yet!)

Same show a guy had a S&W 329 with a box of shells with 2 missing for $500 told me he would work out a better price if I was interested.
Probably could've got it for $450

That 329 kicked itself out of house and home. i emptied a full cylinder in mine before deciding that it kicked too hard. Then I sent it away for Quadraporting at Magnaport. That tamed it, so the recoil is now only slightly worse than the 4" Model 29. I've shot every big handgun I could get my hands on, the unported 329 PD was very painful, like getting hard electric shock in the hand. The second worst was a Linebaugh 500 with 525 gr bullets at 1100 fps. That rolled uncontrollably in my hand even with the Bisley grip frame. Then I realized it was a half a 458 Lott in a pistol...

Seen a brand new 7mm STW Ruger #1 in a small gun shop in New Mexico in the late 90s. At the time the rifle was less than 1K. I still kick myself in the but for not grabbing it.
