Musicians that as a youth you under appreciated

I started liking outlaw country in my mid 40's, missed it the first time.

I always have to be different, today, it is the artists I gave too much credit to. neil young, bruce springsteen, to name a couple. I cannot align with their political stances today.
bruce really wanted to sing "born in the ussr" , chump

For the longest time, I was die-hard 70's classic rock and it has always taken me a decade or so to warm up to new stuff. I figure bands like the Allman's, Blackfoot, Skynnard, etc., were all I needed. My son introduced me to Whiskey Myers, Blackberry Smoke, Kody Jinks, etc., and I really dig their stuff. I do like all kinds of stuff (Rush, YES, The Who, Kinks, etc.) But when it comes to metal, it's Priest, period.

This is supposed to be about older players and groups but Oliver Anthony has got the right mindset.

IMO Mark Knopfler is the greatest composer, lyricist and guitar player in the last century.

Telegraph Road
R & J
Brothers in Arms
Done with Bonaparte

Shangri La

And he played duets with Chet and held his own…..
