I shot a 7x57 for decades, pretty much the same thing
For deer and antelope I shot 120 grain Horneday spire points at 2900 FPS It flat put deer on the ground usually with out a step and never shot through them under 300 yards
I went to a 7 wsm and they always run 50 to 100 yards and it shoots trough them every time 140 gr barns TSX at 3200 FPS
But it does a better job on Elk
Thank you. Unfortunately I need factory ammo. I’m considering either Berger, ELDm or Federal Blue Box SP’s to try.
Where in Wisconsin? I am from Wisconsin Rapids. Also spent a lot of time on grandfathers farm in Clark county.
I am from Sparta. 20 miles east of LaCrosse. Sorry, I just seen this.
