GEEZ! ANOTHER SHERMAN THREAD

Rich, be sure and hang around here. Everybody has some that disagree with them. For the record I have a 6.5SS and like the cartridge. I've just ordered a new stock and I'm sure that I'll continue to use it.

Good lord. I recall you just starting out and all the excitement about the wildcat. It was evident from the start it was going to be successful. Not sure why people hate on stuff so much. Hate on creedmoore, hate on PRC, hate on hate, its just ridiculous. I am super happy for anyone who is successful and can back up their claims with results. I appreciate people like you being on forums as you bring a much deeper level of expertise and generally its not geared toward just making a sale, its geared toward education.

That is a good one very funny my thoughts on this whole subject is any data given over the Internet you were supposed to start low and work up another one most everything here states an opinion please do not take anything personally and argue about it and third anyone that invest the money and time and then offers it up for free is the man in my book!

Me too! I would like to add I do not own a Sherman cartridge at least not yet and I don't do Facebook

Look I don't care what caliber it is Rich is a wealth of knowledge I now have two of his caliber is being built and working on a third why because I like different calibers if I run into somebody at the range and everyone shooting a 300 WinMag it gets boring for me I like the different and unique things and the performance gains have been worth it to me Rich is always respectful and more than willing to help any one in this industry as much that he can thanks rich!!

I will repeat this until my final breath. I have never seen ultimate accuracy from any highest speed load and never will. All a highest speed load does is shorter barrel life, ruin cases and create other damage to the gun. Also one is flirting with possible injuries sustained by too much pressure.
I always work my loads up from 10% below published maximums and move up a few grains until I hit the tightest groups. If the group starts to spread I start backing down until I am dialed in.

I don't get the hating of any cartridge/chamber. If it goes bang and hits a target I like it

The site is successful because of the wide range of experiences and comments. It won't be all positive all of the time and that is okay. You have to be thick-skinned to take on social media. It is just part of the game. There has been more CM hating on this site than can ever be justified but people love to scrutinize and express their opinions; it keeps us wound-up and engaged. No real experience is necessary, just be able to add words to the page. I take most of what I read on social media with a grain of salt but have found Rich to be credible. Others may not and that is okay too.

I've been on this forum for a while, reading far more than posting. I try to keep my posts to my experience and have always appreciated others who share their experience.
Back in 2016 I was in a car accident with a TBI and spent a bunch of time at home recovering. Since I wasn't going in to work, I spent a lot of time thinking about and researching what to do with the 7mm-08 that I had. I wanted a bit more power, and the short action limits what you can achieve in that regard. I started asking about pros and cons of going 284 Win or 7SAUM, and got a lot of good data and advice. Several people were suggesting the 7SS, and providing their loading data as well. After a bit, Rich sent me a PM encouraging me on my recovery and letting me know that if I had questions about anything regarding his wildcats, or about the build in general, I was welcome to ask him directly. He never pushed me in any direction but wanted make sure that I had the information so I could make my own decision. As it turns out, I found a sale on a fluted PTG bolt with a standard bolt face and a couple hundred pieces of 284 Win brass at the same time and went that way with it instead. I do think that my next build will be a Sherman of some sort, though it will be a while before that happens.
I see a lot of people who seem enthusiastic about quite a few different products, and quite a few who are down on others because they had a bad experience one way or another. Sometimes it seems a bit much on both sides. What I like is that there are a lot of people who are willing to put up evidence supporting their opinions (photos showing bullet performance, either good or bad, velocity data, targets, etc.) and those people certainly have my respect. I don't have nearly the same respect for people who promote or bash products without providing the supporting evidence.
I, for one, have learned an awful lot from Rich and others like him, and hope that they stick around so that I can continue to do so.

The problem stems from these types of people have no lives. They just want to spread their vile to get recognition just like this one did. They purposely do this to raise the ire of some of us, thereby mission accomplished! Better to either report or ignore them.

@elkaholic (Rich) and @RockyMtnMT (Steve) both got me started into reloading. I contacted both of these fine people and clearly told them that I didn't have any of there products. I knew from reading the forum that both of these guys were full of knowledge, blunt and to the point but wanted to make us all better. They both answered all my stupid questions, and helped me beyond anyone when it comes to shooting. I hope to repay them both someday with a Sherman shooting some Hammers.

Please do not leave this forum, you are one of the ones I look forward to reading what you have to say the most!

Over the years, there have been a few people who have followed me around trying to cast doubt, question velocities, etc. As far as I know none of you have ever shot one!
These folks have probably been 1%, but maybe there are more? Probably is.
So.... here's what I suggest. My first choice would be to man up and call me to see if we can come to some understanding. My second choice would be for you to call Len and have me removed from the forum if he agrees. Another option is for you who try to cause problems, and post things behind my back, is for you to move on.That would be my last choice, because thats not me.
If I'm missing something here, I'll be happy to move on tomorrow. I feel blessed to have made so many friends here, but on the other hand, I dont want to be stumbling block either.....Rich

Just keep on doing what you do Rich! Your cartridge design cane about to meet an unmet desire of having the optimal case to load new high BC bullets in short action receivers without sacrificing velocity. As a guy who is new to the game, it did not take me long to eliminate the options that were too time consuming and realize you had done the work to solve this riddle. Thanks!
