Hunting with a suppressor

Does anyone know about ordering suppressors from other countries? There was a NZ manufacturer mentioned earlier at a good price. I would imagine if it is serial numbered and we did the paperwork there should not be a difference.

That makes sense, but laws typically don't. Does anyone know about importing a suppressor?

did you find any info out on this?

Suppressor or not, I'm now a huge fan of electronic hearing protection for the field. I've lost too much of my hearing to go unprotected any time I'm shooting a gun. I went with the Otto Noizebarrier and I highly recommend it. I can now hear a conversation at the range or hear a hunting partner when he calls that a bird is headed my way and yet when I fire a shot they cut off the sound very effectively. Probably the best gun related accessory I've ever bought.

For a suppressor I have a SiCo Omega and while I don't hunt with it yet, I will have to get the muzzle threaded on my primary hunting rifle soon. I use it on a 6 and 6.5 Creedmoor for PRS style matches and it's just so much more pleasant to be around. And yes there is a benefit of some recoil management making it easier to spot hits and misses.

I have owned my Omega and varmint called with it for a couple of years. I do believe I am calling in more doubles. That is doubles when they do not come in at the same time. At least some of the credit has to go to the different and lower sound profile when using the suppressor. Wear hearing protection! The suppreor does lower the sound profile. However, it can still cause damage. Don't take a chance. It isn't worth the cost of listening to ringing the rest of your life.

Had to edit my post just above. There was a typo that made it sound like I'm not a fan of electronic hearing protection. That is certainly not the case. I edited it to say I'm now a huge fan...
