Wife is getting into hunting and was debating on which gun to buy her I have the option to buy a Remington 700 6.5 Creedmoor or a Remington model 7 in a 7-08 both are price the same I reload and have a lot of 7mm Bullets but I also have 160- 147gr eld match factory rounds for the 6.5
Which one would you all recommend and why

I've got my 3 daughters set up with Win Model 70 Featherweight / Compacts in 7-08. My girls are on the 'short' side, and the shorter stock on the Compact really makes these guns fit them well, especially with winter clothing on. The 7-08 is just a great deer cartridge, with minimal recoil for them and has worked well with 120 Nosler BTs. And the 6.5 would likely be just as good. From my experience, especially for a new hunter, get the gun that fits her best.

The 243 also comes in the Winchester compact version but I have to agree the 7-08 would be a better choice . I started my daughter out with the 243 winny compact . Now she shoots the Winchester feather weight 270

Also Winchester is producing the Winchester Extreme in the 6.5 credmoor but it maybe a while before you can find one also it has a standard length of pull whereas the compact is setup for smaller frame shooters
