Bushnell let Myself and Pat Sinclair spec this scope out completely. lots of the features were formulated from Pats experience in big game hunting and predator hunting. We thought of lots of little things that would be perfectly combined into the ultimate LR Hunting scope. From large numbering and a zero Indicator to easy to use elevation knob and zero stop, capped but useable/zeroable windadge knob. Easy to adjust power ring. Newly designed LR huntind reticle.

About the reticle, the G2DMR reticle was redesigned for better use as LR Hunting reticle. The bars filled in and brought in closer to the center, more defined center for better low light use, a 4 Mil halo around the center for rapid centering and use as a donut of death on low power, the same mil grid for elevation holdover and wind hold-off as the Original G2. Behold the G2H!!

This scope is going to Debut at the Shot Show and first 200 units on April 10th of 2014. A few will go out to testers, and Pat will update everyone on his use of it and the testing he is doing with it already. Earlier prototypes have already proven worthy on some LR Antelope and Deer 1268 yards was longest .

This will be the start to a line of LR Hunting scopes Bushnell has plans to offer, Ideas coming - MOA version, 4x16x50 model for 2015, LR varmint model???

This scope is also the perfect optic for a Precision AR type rifle. Bushnell will be offering a FDE Model called the LRS for this purpose as well in the fall of 2014.

In all honesty it's almost perfect, that capped windage turret needs to go! Caps are a huge detractor, I would send them a check right now if not for that. I see this being a huge win in the tactical market as well something to rival the nightforce but they screwed up with that cap it's going to be the deciding factor between this optic and the nf compact.

Seems just about right. I'm a Mil guy. I like a 44 obj. lens, light weight and zero stop. Low profile turrets work well in a scabbard. The donut is a necessity for FFP on low power as the reticle is lost on dark targets or low light conditions. Lesser magnification multiplier probably will keep the reticle from shrinking into nothingness. Not sure about the windage cap but I can live with it and it definitely won't spin yanking it out of a scabbard.

I'd like to see street pricing adjusted lower than MSRP as SWFA has a 3x15 FFP at half the price that is more than serviceable but admittedly lacks some of the finer features. Assuming it's tough enough to handle a horse grinding it into the ground while rolling, I think you have a winner here.

LOL, MOA is fading slowly, It looks like they will be doing a MOA version latter in 2014. There is this great divide every Military Sniper uses Mils. All the Long Range field matches are shot with mil scopes. Now that longrange hunting is getting bigger and there is allot of interest it only makes scence that all you hunters will see the light soon. I shot MOA for years, in about 2003 I switched and dont own a moa scope anymore

6.5 for 1000 yards is easier to dial and remember than 22.75 :)

Capped windage is important, for the Horse scabbard, the long packing, the spills. you should all be holding wind anyway not dialing it.

I have been thinking about this scope all day, it brings to much to the table over the nf I have been saving for not to go with it. However by the time it's available will see if I still have the money. George your right about the mil thing I personally never understood the moa thing and mil is so much easier for my brain.

Love it! I have been drooling over it on the Hide for a while now.

Not a lot of MIL guys on this forum. Hopefully the haters don't show up and ruin a good thread! :)

... Glass on par with $2500+ scopes
Bushnell let Myself and Pat Sinclair spec this scope out completely...

That's a bold claim. Most scopes in the $2500+ price range have a triplet objective lens. Does this LRHS model have a triplet objective?

Either way, I think this LRHS model will be a winner somewhere. The LRH model may be better suited to the precision rifle community, than the LRHS model is to the hunting community. Long range hunters seem to prefer higher magnification and SFP. Personally, I'm satisfied with 12X out to about 750 yds, which is my upper limit for hunting. However, 12X on the high end forces you to bring a spotting scope for counting antler points. The donut reticle feature obscures the field of view for long range shots. I'll have a better feel for the reticle design after I see it at SHOT in Jan.

Incidentally, I've been using a Bushnell HDMR H59 scope on a 50 BMG rifle in ballistics testing for the past year and it's holding up very well. I've been generally pleased with the direction Bushnell has gone with their tactical and other high end scopes.
