No plans to bash. It turns out though that the pic is now 'very likely' fake. As a result, not everyone would come to the conclusion that it was fake. I certainly didn't believe it was fake. I thought someone got lucky and took a pic of a monster moose. Given the level of integrity on this forum, I was inclined to give the OP the benefit of the doubt.
The issue here is not whether the pic is fake or not. The issue is that this is a community that is passionate about what they do, kind and willing to help anyone and everyone that asks. Heck, I've sent things to people on this forum for free just to help them out.
So when someone presents something as 'true' and when they get 'found out' they start to back peddle and make excuses, this community will take offense.

Not sure where you are from. I am from the USA, and we do not need the internet to say whatever we want to - it is a universal right.
Now, if you walk into a fairly tight-knit community and start spewing offensive, misleading, dishonest, or smart-*** comments, you are likely to be ridiculed and ostresized. In some places, you may get punched in the mouth... Not lawful, but it happens.
Richard's internet mouth-punching is appropriate, harmless, and deserved. I also find it hilarious, but that's my sense of humor....
I'm sure most of the damage has been turned aside by his shield of truth.

Fake??? Well it's a real moose for sure... I've seen a Shiras very much like this one, which my 3 yellow labs decided to surround and and bark at.... I was scarred sh!#^%$$ cause I thought that moose would start chasing the dogs and they like good faithful labs would come running back to their loving master..... true story
